Luggage Policy
On Board: Each passenger is allowed one carry-on bag and one small, personal item. Carry-on bags must be small enough to fit under the seat or in our overhead bins. Bags stored in our overhead bins must be closeable so that their contents do not spill out during the trip.
Underneath: Each ticketed passenger is allowed two suitcases or other large pieces of luggage with a maximum weight of 50 lbs. We are happy to load your bags underneath our buses, provided they are 50 lbs. or less. Passengers may be required to self-load bags that exceed the 50 lbs. maximum.
Special note regarding bags with wheels: We have found that wheeled bags damage our upholstery and can pose a safety hazard if improperly stored in the overhead bins. Therefore, no bags with wheels are permitted on board, with two exceptions: Small backpacks with built-in wheels and small laptop computer cases that have wheels will be allowed on board but only if they are stored under the seat. These items are not allowed in the overhead bins, and must not be placed on upholstery.
Musical instruments: We realize that some of our passengers have sensitive musical instruments. Large instruments, such as cellos, can typically be placed by themselves underneath the luggage bay. If a passenger desires a space on board the bus for a special musical instrument, the passenger will likely have to purchase a separate seat.
Bicycles: Bicycles are permitted underneath our buses if space is available.
Motorized vehicles: Scooters, mopeds, and other gasoline-powered vehicles are not permitted on board our buses. Motorized wheelchairs and other devices needed for the mobility of persons with disabilities are permitted on our buses, and do not count against the large luggage limit.
Other prohibited items: The following may not be brought anywhere on board our buses: corrosive substances (such as acids and alkalis), ammunition and firearms, animals, combustible or flammable liquids (such as gasoline and kerosene), compressed gases, body parts of any kind (whether alive, dead, whole, or in part, or cremated), explosives (including fireworks), hazardous materials (poisons, radioactive materials, etc.), materials with a noxious odor.
Child car seats: Car seats that are brought on board and take up a seat will require the purchase of a separate seat. Car seats that are stowed under the bus for children under 2 that are riding as a lap child can be stored for free and do not count against the large luggage limit.
Go Buses will make every effort to safeguard your luggage and return it to you in the condition that it was in when loaded on our bus. However, Go Buses will not be liable under any circumstances for damage or loss to any luggage. To avoid loss or mixups, passengers should mark or tag all bags with name and contact information. Go Buses disclaims any liability for particularly expensive, valuable, or fragile items such as, but not limited to, computers, electronics, jewelry, banknotes, artwork, collectibles, or antiques, and strongly recommends that these items remain with passengers at all times, subject to the other policies set forth above.
Go Buses will not be liable under any circumstances for personal injuries as a result of loading, unloading, or other luggage handling. We recommend passengers follow ergonomic lifting procedures when handling luggage and ask a Go Buses employee for assistance if necessary. Passengers stowing items below the bus should be aware of height restrictions in the luggage compartment.
